Elizabeth Hofheinz is an award-winning writer who has interviewed approximately 1,000 orthopedic surgeons over the last 15 years. The first writer engaged by Orthopedics This Week, Hofheinz has been honored with the Media Orthopaedic Reporting Excellence Award from The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons on two occasions.
As Director of Communications for OSP, Hofheinz strives to find the most scintillating topics of interest to the orthopedic world and then locate those most qualified to opine on them. She also works with OSP client companies to ensure that their good work receives the attention it deserves.
In addition, Hofheinz is a freelance editor and writer who collaborates with physicians and Ph.D.s in order to prepare manuscripts for publication in professional journals. Her clients are from the U.S., China, Japan, Turkey, and beyond. She writes and edits for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), The Rheumatologist, ENT Today (Wiley publications), corporations, public relations firms, the team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as physicians at Harvard and the Veterans Administration.
Hofheinz holds two master’s degrees: one in public health—useful in the statistical arena—and another in counseling psychology—useful in all arenas.
